Lowering the Tone is a men’s singing group that was borne out of singing workshops aimed at getting men singing together. Although some of our members have been singing regularly, the majority of them haven’t aired their singing voices since they were at school (and that’s quite a long time ago!).
Our men don’t take themselves too seriously and are enjoying exploring the tremendous sound that 20 men can make together. We’ve already made a bit of a name for ourselves with our shanty singing, but we’re singing songs from other genres too.
We meet for a series of sessions on Saturday mornings at Newnham Village Hall between 10.00 and 12.00, and if you get there from 9.45 there’s a cuppa and a bacon roll to enjoy first!
If this sounds a wee bit tempting, don’t hesitate to get in touch and I’ll let you know when the next sessions are!
